In this respect, the signs of aging that occur in the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid are related to the aging quality of the forehead area. However, the signs of aging in the lower eyelid are mainly related to the cheek areas.

What are the signs of aging in the lower eyelid?

The signs of aging in the lower eyelid can be listed as follows;

In lower eyelid aesthetics, a physical examination is primarily performed on the cheek area. In line with the physical examination, the quality of the relaxation in the muscles in the region is determined and the weakness in the connective tissues is evaluated. The nature of the slippage in the fat pads in the lower eyelid and the extent to which the slip occurs downward or forward are evaluated.

In lower eyelid aesthetics, a detailed eye examination should be performed and the patient's medical history should be considered before the operation.

How is the Lower Eyelid Surgery performed?

In lower eyelid aesthetic procedures, an incision is made just below the eyelashes and the eyelid skin is lifted together with the muscle. By spreading the fat pads to the edge of the eye socket, the depression that occurs under the eye is tried to be eliminated.

If the lifting of the cheek and spreading of the fat pads are insufficient, fat injection can be also helpful.

After the abundance in the skin and muscles is removed, the muscle tissue hangs on the outer wall of the eye socket. Thus, support is provided to the fat pads.

Since the face is considered as a whole, lower eyelid aesthetic surgeries are generally performed together with mid-face lift surgery and general anesthesia is applied during the application.

Lower eyelid aesthetic surgeries take an average of 2 to 4 hours, although it varies according to additional procedures and interventions that may be required.
